Raquel Stone
Head Trainer & Founder at Mountain Bound K9. Raquel started her career as a licensed veterinary technician and proceeded to get her Bachelors degree in Animal Science with a concentration on canine behavior. Raquel has years of experience working with dogs exhibiting a range of behavioral issues in NYC. Through per diem work she is a narcotics K9 handler with Alaska. Additionally, she she participates in bird hunting sports with both her labradors. Raquel has now become professional certified through Ivan Balabanov’s Training Without Conflict elite dog training course teaching how to better the communication between owner & dog through play.

Elroy
Elroy is original helper dog at Mountain Bound K9. This sweet Labrador Retriever became Raquel’s when she worked for a company who had owned him previously. The pair accidentally came together and were inseparable since day one. Elroy is extremely patient with dogs just learning how to socialize properly and knows how to teach them boundaries. He has worked with the sweetest dogs & the most aggressive, handling each situation with ease. Outside of MBK9 Raquel and Elroy participate in hunting sports at local hunt clubs!

Alaska
Coming from Southern Oak Kennels, Alaska is an extremely well rounded and useful helper dog. Full of confidence and all around sweet demeanor, she's proven to help more timid dogs come out of their shells. She is always ready to play with people and dogs no matter who they are. Alaska and Raquel have achieved her AKC Junior Hunting title in 2022. Additionally, they are a Department of Defense narcotics detection team.

Stevie
Coming from our breeding program, Climbing Stone Labradors, Stevie is the daughter of Elroy and Alaska! At a young age, Stevie has shown to be a wonderful helper dog to many young dogs staying with us. She’s extremely social and is learning how to read and adjust to other dogs' personalities with ease. Stevie is Raquel’s Explosive Detection K9. Together, they work for private security companies clearing spaces of explosive materials.

Mountain Bound K9 was started because of Raquel’s love for dogs and the great outdoors. She realized that her happiest moments were spent outside with Elroy. She had created a relationship based on trust and proper communication with her dog, allowing him to be off leash and responsive in any situation. No matter the severity of the reason you are seeking dog training, Raquel will aim to give you and your dog this type of relationship too. MBK9 is dog training for the everyday family dog, puppy and even those who some may deem as “untrainable”. Every dog deserves a happy life.
